Day 1: Bagdogra - Gangtok (125 km- approx 2 hours)
Arrive at the Bagdogra airport. Meet our tour representative who helps you with an assisted transfer to Gangtok, by road. Located in the eastern Himalayas, Gangtok is the capital city of Sikkim. Lying at the altitude of 5410 feet, along with being a popular tourist destination, Gangtok is also an important Buddhist sacred site.Upon reaching, check-in at your pre-booked hotel. The rest of the day is free. You can interact with the locals, can gorge on local delicacies, can explore the surrounding area on your own etc. Stay overnight.
On day 2 after breakfast, start your day-s excursion to the Tshangu Lake, also known as Changu Lake. Lying at an altitude of 12,400 feet, this lake holds sacred importance for Buddhist as well as Hindus. Oval in shape and extending up to 1 km, this lake area offers some amazing views.The next visit is to the famous Baba Mandir, which is quite close to the lake. Also known as Baba Harbhajan Singh temple, lying at a height of around 13000 feet, it is quite popular amidst tourists. Back to Gangtok by evening. Overnight stay in hotel.
On the 3rd day after breakfast, check-out of your Gangtok hotel. Hit the road to Lachung. En-route halt at Tashi view point. Erected by Tashi Namgyal, the King of Sikkim, this view point offers some amazing views of the surrounding hills. The next halt is at Kabi Longtsok, a beautiful town that is around 17 km northwards of Sikkim-s capital. This historical town houses a Buddhist monastery. Seven Sister-s water fall is the next attraction in line. These picturesque waterfalls provide some amazing views. Get yourself clicked here while admiring the nature-s beauty.On the way, stop somewhere for lunch (at your own expense). Next you visit Singhik view point. Bounded by lush green hills, this viewpoint is an ideal place to treat your eyes to the some magnification views of Mt. Khangchendzonga and Mt. Siniolchu. Arrival in Lachung by evening. Check-in, followed by dinner. Overnight stay.
After an early morning after breakfast, leave the hotel for a half-day-s excursion to the Yumthang Valley. Popularly known as -Valley of Flowers-, it is the best place to treat your eyes to the beautiful scenery of the nature. Lying at an elevation of 3500 meters above the sea level, this valley offers a colorful delighting sight. On the way, halt at the popular hot springs, known for their medicinal value.The next halt is at the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary- this is a beautiful nature park that is home to around 40 species of rhododendron trees. After sightseeing, relish hot lunch. Later on, move back to Gangtok, by road. En-route, stop at Bhim Nala waterfalls and Twin waterfalls. Indulge in fun activities with your loved ones here. Day 5: Gangtok - Darjeeling (96.5 km/ approx 2.5 hours)
On day 5, after breakfast, leave your hotel for half-day city tour of Gangtok. You visit some of the most popular tourist attractions of the city. The list of attractions of the day includes the Flower Show, Droul Chorten, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom (Closed on Sunday).Later, get an assisted transfer to Darjeeling, by road. On arrival, complete the check-in formalities at your pre-booked hotel. The evening is free to spend at leisure. Stay overnight.
Get-up early at around 4:30 am, to visit the Tiger Hill for treating your eyes to some of the most amazing views of the sunrise over the Mt. Everest (subject to clear weather). Later, on your way back, visit the Ghoom Monastery, also known as Yiga Choeling Monastery. Erected in the year 1850, it was the first Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Darjeeling.Also halt at Batasia Loop- a specially built spiral railway track where the toy train takes a 360 degree turn over the hilltop, offering great view of the surrounding hills. Breakfast followed by sightseeing including attractions like Peace pagoda, Japanese Temple, the Himalayan Zooogical Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Padmaja Naidu and lastly the Tibetan refugee help centre. Overnight in Darjeeling.
