The trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a small village on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. The drive takes around 8 hours, and you/’ll pass through scenic countryside and traditional Nepalese villages.

The trail from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel passes through beautiful forests of oak and rhododendron. You/’ll cross several suspension bridges and have the opportunity to spot local wildlife like langur monkeys and Himalayan black bears.

Lama Hotel 3

The trail continues through forests and alongside the Langtang River, with stunning views of the Langtang Lirung peak in the distance. You/’ll pass through the traditional Tamang village of Ghoda Tabela before arriving at Langtang Village, the largest settlement in the region.

Hotel Snowfall 3

The trail climbs steadily from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa, a beautiful monastery set against the backdrop of the Langtang Himalayas. You/’ll pass through yak pastures and have the opportunity to see traditional cheese-making in action.

Hotel Blue Star 3

This is a rest day in Kyanjin Gompa, allowing you to acclimatize to the altitude and explore the surrounding area. You can take a short hike to the nearby Kyanjin Ri peak for stunning views of the Langtang range.

Lama Hotel 3

The trail retraces its steps back to Lama Hotel, with beautiful views of the mountains and forests along the way.

Hotel Nameste And Restaurant 3

The trail climbs steadily from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru, a traditional Tamang village with stunning views of the Langtang Himalayas. You/’ll pass through forests of bamboo and rhododendron and have the opportunity to spot local wildlife like red pandas and Himalayan thar.

Langtang View Hotel 3

The trail descends from Thulo Syabru to Dhunche, a small town on the banks of the Trishuli River. You/’ll pass through traditional villages and farmland along the way.

The trek ends with a drive from Dhunche back to Kathmandu, passing through scenic countryside and traditional Nepalese villages along the way.

Attractions of the Langtang trek include stunning views of the Himalayas, traditional Nepalese villages and culture, beautiful forests and wildlife, and the opportunity to see traditional cheese-making in action. The trek also offers the chance to experience the unique Tamang culture, which is distinct from the Sherpa culture found in other parts of the region.
