Karamay

Karamay is a prefecture-level metropolis within the north of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China. The name of the town comes from the Uyghur language, and manner "black oil", relating to the oil fields close to the town. Karamay become the site of one of the worst failures in modern Chinese history, the 12-08 incident, while 324 human beings, inclusive of 288 faculty youngsters, misplaced their lives in a cinema fire on 8 December 1994. On December 8, 1994, a fireplace broke out in Friendship Theatre, Karamay, which precipitated the dying of 325 human beings consisting of 288 faculty youngsters, in line with reliable figures.
