About Uruacu
Uruacu is a city and municipality in north Goias kingdom, Brazil. Uruacu is positioned north of Anapolis and Goiania at the crucial interstate toll road BR-153, which links Brasilia to Belem. It is 269 km from Goiania and 244 km. from Brasilia. It belongs to the Porangatu Microregion. On the west the municipal boundary follows the Serra Dourada mountains, wherein the Passa Tees river has its supply and resources the city with its ingesting water. On the east the boundary is formed by means of the Serra da Mesa reservoir. The beginning of this town become the Passa Tres ranch received with the aid of the Fernandes own family in 1910 and placed in the municipality of Pilar de Goias along the path utilized by muleteers and merchants from the south.
In 1913 Coronel Gaspar donated lands to construct a chapel dedicated to Saint Anne and the agreement was referred to as Sant'Ana. In 1924 the agreement was raised to a district and in 1931 it have become a municipality. In 1943 the call become modified to Uruacu, which in Tupi-Guarani manner "large fowl". In 1948 Uruacu misplaced the district of Porangatu, which have become the municipality of Porangatu, now the maximum vital metropolis inside the location. In 1953 it lost the district of Amaro Leite, which have become the municipality of Amaro Leite, later changed to Mara Rosa.
