Fyrkat Viking Centre

Situated near the town of Jelling, Fyrkat Viking Centre is a place where you could virtually time travel back to the era of of Vikings. If you ever missed being born in that era. Not only will you get more knowledge about the culture and lifestyle of the vikings, but also indulge in activities like blacksmithing, archery, cooking on open fire and working with wool and yarn. You can also dress up in the daily clothes as well as the war clothes of viking people. There is also facility for school children and tourists to stay in the center for few days. Just 1 km from the the Fyrkat Viking center, is the grand Fyrkat Ring Fortress. One of the four viking fortresses built around the 980 AD in Denmark, it is one of the best preserved symbols of Viking era. Though the present fortress is a reconstruction of the original one, it still exudes the same aura and mightiness.
