Framed by its dramatic red cliffs, Vagator is the most remote of Goa’s popular beaches. You will stumble on it as you travel south of Anjuna and across the Chapora River. As the most remote of Goa’s popular tourist beaches, it the hardest to reach, but is also the least crowded. It is this that brings it backpacker travellers from around the world.
Vagator is best known for its water sports, undertaken against the background of its famed cliffs. The most laidback of Goa’s popular beaches, accommodation is not easy to find here. The closest village is Chapora, while locals shop at Mapusa.
