Samba Dashami is a temple festival with its uniqueness to the state of Odisha. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the Shukla Paksha of Pausha month of Bengali Year. As per the legendary legend, Samba, child of Lord Krishna, was tormented by disease and was cured by the Sun God Surya following 12 years of retribution close Konark Sun Temple.
Upon the arrival of Samba Dashami, the ladies in the family wake before dawn. In the wake of showering they get ready dishes, for example, Khichdi, Oriya Puli and Ghadghadia Tarkari, and offer them to the Sun God or Lord Surya at dawn. Every one of the families arranged nourishment thing that is offered for the sake of every relative. Once the nourishment things have been offered to Lord Surya, the ladies set up an arrangement of cake-like dishes called Pitha, which incorporate Manda Pitha, Kakara Pitha, Arisha Pitha.
