About Dhungri Mela

Dhungri Mela is a yearly celebration celebrated at the Hadimba Temple that praises the birthday of Goddess Hadimba. It is one of the vital celebrations in Himachal Pradesh and is extremely prevalent among the nearby individuals as well. The sanctuary is arranged in a backwoods called Dhungri Van Vihar, consequently the name of the sanctuary and celebration is gotten from that point. Worked in 1533, the sanctuary has been commending the celebration from that point forward with extraordinary eagerness and joy.

Goddess Hadimba is the spouse of Bhima who lived in the slopes of Dhungri and later vanquished the place and the hearts of the occupants. Indeed, even after her demise, local people proceeded with her birthday festivity, which has now turned into a yearly occasion of the sanctuary. The mela to observe Hadimba's birthday is held from May 14 to16, in the woods.
