About Festival Teluk Kendari

Kendari has a local shell called Kalandue. Celebration Kalandue play on words held premiere in conjunction with the 186th anniversary of Kendari. There is a unique celebration of the 186th anniversary of Kendari City which is the first Kalandue Festival held. Later this activity will be held every year to fill the activities of Kendari Bay Festival. The celebration participants consisting of several community groups vying to find kalandue around the tidal area Lapulu District and only given a stick to collect as many kalandue as possible. The next hour the committee collected their catch and then weighed. Participants with punctuality and the heaviest scales are entitled to win the champions so on. Participants who have not been lucky to also have hadith entertainment. Not only that the organizing committee also prepares door rise for participants. The public interest is remarkable. This is evidenced by the many people who come to watch the celebration is not just participants.

In addition, this event is also held as a means to strengthen bone friendship of the community of Kendari City, fostering the spirit of togetherness that coincides with the anniversary of Kendari City. Hopefully with this activity is expected the community will be more aware and maintain and love the environment especially Kendari Bay area as tourist area and livelihood of Teluk Kendari community. According to Walikota kendari as the initiator of the event, this celebration will become the annual motivation of Kendari City.
