Altach is a municipality in Feldkirch district within the Austrian country of Vorarlberg. Five different municipalities are surrounding Altach, Hohenems inside the Dornbirn district, Gotzis and Mader in the Feldkirch district, and Oberriet and Diepoldsau inside the Swiss canton St. Gallen. St. Gallen or historically St Gall, in German every so often Sankt Gallen is a Swiss metropolis and the capital of the canton of St. Gallen. It advanced from the hermitage of Saint Gall, based in the seventh century. Today, it's far a big city agglomeration and represents the middle of jap Switzerland.
The Habsburgs ruled the villages in Vorarlberg alternately from Tyrol and Further Austria. In 1801 Altach become separated from neighboring Gotzis. From 1805 to 1814 Altach belonged to Bavaria, then to Austria once more. Altach is part of the Austrian nation Vorarlberg due to the fact that its founding in 1861. From 1945 to 1955 the municipality became within the French profession sector in Austria.
