It is a town in the australian territory of south australia situated in the state's south-east coastline on the shores of Lacepede Bay.
It is situated around 240 kilometers 150 miles southeast of the state capital of Adelaide and 138 kilometers north-west of the focal point of the city of Mount Gambier. At the 2011 enumeration, Kingston SE had a populace of 1,425.The town was named after Sir George Strickland Kingston, a South Australian lawmaker, surveyor and engineer.
Kingston Post Office opened on 9 February 1869.The expansion on its name is to recognize Kingston in the South East of South Australia from another 'Kingston' in the state which is presently authoritatively named "Kingston On Murray" was included July 1940.
