Battle Creek

Battle Creek is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is the primary city of the Battle Creek, Michigan Metropolitan Statistical Area, which incorporates all of Calhoun County. Battle Creek is home to the Music Center, which serves South Central Michigan. The Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra is based at the W.K. Kellogg Auditorium in downtown Battle Creek. The ensemble is led by Anne Harrigan. It is Michigan's longest-running ensemble symphony.

The Brass Band of Battle Creek is made out of 31 metal players and percussionists from around the United States and Europe. "Made in 1989 by siblings Jim and Bill Gray, podiatrists and novice metal players from Battle Creek, MI, the BBBC has developed to faction status in Battle Creek, where BBBC shows are frequently sold out and holding up records are made a long time ahead of time." Battle Creek has the yearly Michigan High School Athletic Association group wrestling, volleyball, baseball, and softball state titles. The town gets quarterly lifts to its economy from the fans who rush there to take after their groups. Every year, Battle Creek has the Sandy Koufax 13S World Series, for 13-year-old baseball players. In August 2010, Battle Creek was host to the eighth version of the International H.K.D. Diversions.
