Silifke

Silifke is a town and region in south-focal Mersin Province, Turkey, 80 km west of the city of Mersin, on the west end of Cukurova. Silifke is close to the Mediterranean drift, on the banks of the Goksu River, which streams from the close-by Taurus Mountains, encompassed by alluring wide open along the waterway banks. Silifke was once in the past called Seleucia on the Calycadnus, differently refered to throughout the hundreds of years as Seleucia Cilicia, Seleucia, Isauria, Seleucia Trachea, and Seleucia Tracheotis.

The economy of the area relies upon farming, the travel industry and raising domesticated animals. The town of Silifke is as a business opportunity for the beach front plain, which produces beans, peanuts, sesame, banana, orange, lemon, cotton, grapes, lentils, olives, tobacco, and canned foods grown from the ground.
