Inonu

Inonu is a town and region of Eskisehir Province in the Central Anatolia area of Turkey. As per 2009 registration, populace of the region is 7,228 of which 3,980 live in the town of İnonu.The locale covers a region of 358 km², and the normal height is 840 m. Amid the western front otherwise called the Greco-Turkish War of the Turkish War of Independence in 1921, the First and Second Battles of Inonu occurred close to the town between the Turkish and the Greek powers.

The fights were named after the town, and Ismet Inonu, the Turkish boss amid the fights and future President and Prime Minister of Turkey, was given his surname out of appreciation for his administrations amid the fights. Before it turned into a locale in 1987, Inonu had a place with Sogut region of Bilecik Province in 1922. A while later, it turned out to be a piece of Bozuyuk region in 1926 and focal locale of Eskisehir Province in 1963. Inönü was a township focus until 1987.
