Fallanden

Fallanden is a municipality inside the district of Uster inside the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. The municipality Fallanden consists of the village Fallanden as well as the previous farm settlements Benglen, Pfaffhausen and Neuhausen. Archaeological excavations show Mesolithic housing as well as Neolithic and Bronze Age settlements within the location of Greifensee to below the existing village. Fallanden is first mentioned round 820 as Fenichlanda. In the 19th century the Fraumünster owned large estates, whilst the Grossmunster owned huge components of the tithe.
