Albox

Albox is a Spanish municipality in the province of Almeria in the independent network of Andalucía. It is situated inside the north eastern a part of Valle del Almanzora and 120 km from the provincial capital, Almería. In the year 2017 it had 11,481 inhabitants. Its superficial place is 168.42 km² and it has a populace density of 68 population/km². The municipality is made from the areas of Albox, Llano de las Animas, Llano del Espino, Llano de Los Olleres, La Molata and Las Pocicas.

Other scattered areas are Fuente del Marques and Aljambra. Albox owes its basis and settlement to the Arabs its call manner 'tower' in Arabic with a history extensively related to the medieval splendour of the Kingdom of Granada from the 13th century.
