Stavropol

Stavropol is a city and the authoritative focus of Stavropol Krai, Russia. The name Stavropol is a Russian version of the Greek name, Stauropolis, was the name of a verifiably inconsequential archbishopric in Caria, a Roman area in present Anatolia, signifying "the City of the Cross".
