Degtyarsk

Degtyarsk is a town under the managerial locale of the Town of Revda in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, situated on the Vyazovka River, 67 kilometers or 42 mi west of Yekaterinburg, the authoritative focus of the oblast. It was established in the 18th century; town status was allowed to it in 1954. The town is outstanding as the site of 1960 U-2 occurrence, where an American Lockheed U-2 observation flying machine and seeking after Soviet MiG-19 'Rancher' were shot somewhere around S-75 Dvina SA-2 'Rule' surface-to-air rockets.
