Dabaca

Dabaca is a commune in the county of Cluj , Transylvania , Romania , along with the villages of Dabaca, Moon de Jos and Paglisa . It is placed within the northeast of Cluj Deal, at the Lonea River. The Dabaca truthful seems for the primary time in 1064, being then shaped from the Dabaca fort and a locality shaped by it. In 1164 it's far stated the county of Dabaca and the commands of Dăbâca, Leustachius, who becomes the usa's chief in 1176. In another document dated 1166, Wido, the son of Dobuca, is stated. From the period 1214-1219 there also are the first mentionings of the Dabaca fort as the house of the county.

The first investigations of the fort belonged to K. Hodor in 1837, observed in 1942 by using K. Crettier's archaeological survey after which with the aid of an in depth archaeological research initiated in 1964 by way of Constantin Daicoviciu's team. The castle has an annular form and consists of a number of four fortified enclosures with a total diameter of six hundred m. It is located on the top terrace of the Lonei Valley and has the function of retaining control of the salt street from Sic to Gate Meses.
