Lusail is a deliberate city in Qatar, located at the coast, inside the northern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail is located about 23 km north of the town centre of Doha, simply north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over 38 km² and could subsequently have a population of as much as 250,000 people. It is planned to have marinas, residential regions, island inns, commercial districts, luxurious shopping and amusement facilities, and a golf route community, man made islands and numerous enjoyment districts. Construction is still ongoing.
Development is being done by using the nation-controlled developer Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company in conjunction with Parsons Corporation and Dorsch-Gruppe. It is one of the proposed venues for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Two nearby settlements to the south, Al Kharayej and Jabal Thuaileb, were incorporated into Lusail as standalone districts. A planned commercial place referred to as Energy City is likewise being constructed in Lusail. Located to the north of the metropolis are a number of deserted fishing villages.
