Richmond is a town of New Zealand. It is the seat of the Tasman District Council which lies 13 km away from south of Nelson in the South Island of New Zealand. It close to the southern extremity of Tasman Bay.
It was first settled in 1842 and it was named in 1854 after the town of Richmond on Thames close London.
