After Breakfast, at 09:00 AM transfer to Lachung. Overnight at Hotel. Gurudongmar (17800 Ft / 5427 Mts, 70 Kms / 04 to 05 Hrs from Lachen). (No entry for foreign national. Minimum you require 02 people in a group to visit North Sikkim Lachen & Lachung. Foreign national are allowed to visit till Thangu, with valid permit). This is one journey of a lifetime. The day starts early at 5 am and it’s still dark as you travel uphill the morning sun creates a spectacular view of the snow peak mountains. From Lachen its a steep ascent to Thangu (13000 Ft / 3963 Mts, 30 Kms / 02 to 2.5 Hrs from Lachen). We recommend a short halt at Thangu for stretching & acclimatization. At Thangu you will find basic family run kitchens which serves tea, bread butter and basic items on Direct payment. You get to sit around the earthen furnace and experience the mountain life style. A further drive reaches to the virgin and uninhabited land of Chopta Valley (13500 Ft / 4116 Mts, 4 Kms / 30 to 45 min from Thangu). Many tourists, who are not comfortable with the altitude, limit their tour till Chopta valley, which is with close proximity to Tibet. The valley is rich with Alpine vegetation. From Chopta valley till Gurudongmar, it is mostly flat land with mountains and army bunkers on all sides. This is a high altitude desert, with less vegetation; the landscape is stony and dusty. In winters, Gurudongmar Lake is frozen except one corner which is considered to be very sacred. Army Jawans apart from guarding the border are always ready to help those who are in need.

Early morning, after breakfast, at around 09:30 AM our guests would start for a mesmerizing day excursion tour to Mirik. Mirik is popular for the lake. The place is very small with hotels close to the lake but not up to mark or category. The route to Mirik from Siliguri is just wonderful with Tea gardens and lush green scenic beauty. There are shops and stalls around the lake. Evening, our guests will return back to the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Station and would roughly take about 05-06 hrs (depending upon the traffic conditions) to reach the airport. It is best advised to our guests to start early in the morning as there are chances of heavy traffic conditions on the way to NJP/IXB.
