After pickup from hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. As we drive to My Tho, we will pass picturesque rice fields until we reach the Vinh Trang Pagoda. We will take a leisurely boat ride along the river, observing the local stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages. We will visit Tortoise Island to enjoy lunch in the orchard garden. Then, we will take a boat ride to An Khanh, where we can enjoy some local treats and hear Southern Vietnamese folk music. Later, we will continue to Can Tho, where we will spend the night. Start time: Approx. 7:30am - 8:30am My Tho, Vietnam This city on the Mekong Delta has a rich history. It was originally settled by Chinese refugees in the 17th century and became an important strategic location for the French during their colonialist campaign in Vietnam. Vinh Trang Temple This beautiful Buddhist temple in My Tho was the site of important historical conflicts between the Vietnamese and invading French colonial forces. There are many old statues on the temple grounds that make for great photograph subjects. Mekong Delta, Vietnam This fertile region is formed by the Mekong River’s outflow into the Pacific Ocean. There are many islands and rice paddies. It is a great place to take a boat cruise to learn about rural Vietnamese life. Tortoise Island This beautiful island in the Mekong Delta, near the city of My Tho, is a fascinating place, full of small calm waterways that are perfect for boat journeys. You can see locals making coconut candy and taste these creations!

Today, we will take a leisurely boat trip on the Bassac River in the Lower Mekong Delta to reach the Cai Rang Floating Market, the liveliest in the region, where we can learn how Vietnamese vermicelli soup is made. Wandering around the village, we will meet friendly locals and learn how to pass a monkey bridge. Before lunch, we will visit the local orchard garden and then continue to Chau Doc to visit Tra Su. We will take a smooth cruise on small boats to go bird watching. Later, we will check into a hotel in Chau Doc. Can Tho, Vietnam This city, the largest on the Mekong Delta, is best known for its rice paper manufacturing and its floating market. At the market, visitors can buy a wide range of tropical fruits like mango, durian, jackfruit and more. Chau Doc, Vietnam This small city on the Mekong Delta is on the border with Cambodia. It is best known for its variety of fish sauces and other culinary delights.

After breakfast, we will take a nice boat trip through the local floating village to learn how people in the Mekong Delta raise fish in their floating houses. We will visit a traditional Cham weaving village and a local Islamic mosque. We will then return to Ho Chi Minh City, bringing an end to the tour.
