After a light breakfast, check-out from the Kendal hotel & drive through England's first ever National Park known as the Lake District. It is a mountainous region dotted with lakes, truly an inspiration for many writers including William Wordsworth. Enjoy a cruise on Lake Windermere. Later, proceed to Scotland. En route, stop at Gretna Green, one of world's most popular wedding destination. Afterwards, drive to Edinburgh, Scotland's compact hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland's crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, the crown used in the coronation of Scottish rulers. Arthurs Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.
