Santa Cruz is the fourth canton in Guanacaste Province in Costa Rica. The canton covers a place of 1,312.27 square kilometers and has a population of 60,495. Its capital town is likewise known as Santa Cruz.
The heart-fashioned canton is on the northern Pacific coast among Bahia Potrero to the north and the mouth of the Rio Montana to the south. It includes Cabo Velas, the furthermost western point on the Nicoya Peninsula. The Río Tempisque delineates a small portion of the eastern border. The capital town of Santa Cruz, named Santa Cruz, is a regular Costa Rican rural metropolis. Its inhabitants are very numerous and consist mostly of farmers, fishermen, people or personnel of numerous of the various lodges positioned in the vicinity. The metropolis is known inside Costa Rica for its cultural heritage and lots of historical traditions. These traditions include the Fiesta de Semana Santa and the traditional bullfights in addition to many others.
