Rangpur

Rangpur is one of the real urban areas in Bangladesh and Rangpur Division. Rangpur was pronounced a locale base camp on 16 December 1769, and set up as a district in 1869, making it one of the most seasoned regions in Bangladesh. The metropolitan place of business was raised in 1892 under the priority Raja Janaki Ballav, Sen. Director of the region. Amid the time of 1890, "Shyama sundari khal" was unearthed for development of the town. The Municipality is situated in the north  western piece of Bangladesh.

A Recently settled state funded college of Bangladesh named "Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur" is arranged in the southern piece of the city. Already, Rangpur was the base camp of Greater Rangpur area. Later the Greater Rangpur area was separated into the Rangpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha regions. In the incomparable Rangpur district, minimal financial advancement occurred until the 90s, essentially in view of the yearly flooding the locale used to see before the creation of the Teesta Barrage. Coal is found close to this region. There is an extensive military cantonment in the town.
