Build around the 12th century, Borgund Stave Church is one of the most well preserved of the 28 stave churches in Norway. The structure of the church shows that there have been no heavy renovations or reconstructions in the church and hence it remains exactly how it was at the time of construction. The six tier architecture has inspired many other stave churches around the world. Even the interiors, except for pulpit and altarpiece, have not been reformed. One can still see the original square shaped baptismal of medieval era inside the church.
