About Walden
Walden is the biggest of three towns of the Town of Montgomery in Orange County, New York NY, United States. It has the ZIP Code 12586 and the 778 phone trade inside the 845 territory code. The town started in the mid eighteenth century as a plant town along the Wallkill River.
One mill operator, Jacob Walden, was so fruitful the town that fused in the mid-nineteenth century took its name from him. Afterward, it would be the town's three blade producers that brought it development and success. They are gone today, however other modern concerns remain. Walden has been best referred to in the Hudson Valley as the home of the Thruway Markets hypermarket complex, which shut in 2013.
