Basel Landschaft

Basel-Landschaft is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. The capital is Liestal. It shares borders with the Swiss cantons of Basel-Stadt, Solothurn, Jura and Aargau, and with the French region of Grand Est and the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg. Basel-Landschaft, together with Basel-Stadt, shaped the ancient Canton of Basel until they separated following the rebellion of 1833.

In Roman instances, the place of Basel turned into a centre of Roman interest. There are properly-preserved stays at the website of Augusta Raurica inside the canton of Basel-Landschaft. Around 200 AD there have been approximately 20,000 human beings residing in this metropolis, now a part of the tons smaller Augst. The stays are on display in an open-air museum. The museum draws over 140,000 traffic consistent with year. Many of those traffic are schoolchildren from other parts of Switzerland. The website of Augusta Raurica includes the quality-preserved amphitheatre north of the Alps, and a reconstructed Roman villa.
