Mirissa is a small city closer to the south coast of Sri Lanka. It is based in the Matara District of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It is located about 150 KMs south to Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 4 meters above the sea level. Mirissa is undoubtedly one of the best coastal area in the deep south of Sri Lanka. In addition, Mirissa is equally popular for its beaches and night life along with one of the island's main whale and dolphin watching locations, which makes it a popular tourist location in Sri Lanka.. The famous Sri Sunandarama Temple is also closely located to Mirissa.
