One of the few Mosques in Spain, La Mezquita stands out for its sheer genius in architecture. Constructed between 8th and 10th century, La Mezquita was partially destroyed but was reconstructed in the year 1236 as a cathedral. You will be amazed to view the 900 columns and arches made of marble, jasper and granite that give a feel of standing in a concrete jungle. This was arguably the best mosque in entire Europe when it was constructed and it hasn't lost a touch of its elegance.
