Slavin

The gigantic Slavín war commemoration is noticeable from a significant part of the city. On a slope sitting above the manor, it honors the city's freedom by the Red Army in April 1945. The dedication – and Soviet freedom – conveys blended recollections for Slovaks. There is a certified appreciation for the forfeit of the Russians and other Soviet people groups who crushed the Nazis in 1945.

For guests, the remembrance's principal trait is the scene: its position is breathtaking, with incredible perspectives over the city. The zone around Slavín is additionally a wonderful place for a walk. It is set in a well-off locale of the city, in which built up manors from the Austro-Hungarian and interwar periods blend with the more up to date buildings of the Slovak nouveau riche; adjacent are the forested areas of Horský Park.
