Starodub

Starodub is a town in Bryansk Oblast, Russia, situated on the Babinets River, 169 kilometers southwest of Bryansk. It turned into a piece of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 14th century, and later the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In 1503– 1618, Starodub was a piece of the Grand Duchy of Moscow and after that Poland until 1648. Amid the Khmelnytskyi Uprising, it turned into the focal point of Starodub Cossack Regiment and appreciated an extensive proportion of self-sufficiency somewhere in the range of 1666 and 1686. Starodub remained a piece of self-ruling Cossack Hetmanate until the point that 1781 when it turned into a uyezd town. In 1796, Starodub was consolidated into Chernigov Governorate.
