Acuna

Acuna is a Mexican metropolis, placed inside the nation of Coahuila, renamed in honor of the writer Manuel Acuna, head of the municipality of Acuna, is at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level, and has an area of 11,487.70 rectangular kilometers.

Founded on the point where the Las Vacas move empties into the Rio Grande, it became to begin with called Garza Galan in 1880, renamed Las Vacas Congregation in 1884 and in 1912 it was named Villa Acuna. Adjacent to the Rio Grande, which marks the border between Mexico and America, it gives a bridge of manage and crossing for the neighboring town of Del Rio within the US kingdom of Texas. Ciudad Acuna is also crossed by means of Arroyo Las Vacas, which flows into the Rio Grande simply at that point. It is placed at an approximate distance of 517 kilometers from the kingdom capital Saltillo. The first settlers who visited the vicinity arrived in December 1850.
