About Monte Music Festival

Orchestrating the strings of music and restricting distinctive societies together on one stage is the thing that Monte Music Festival is about. Imagined to unite Western established and Indian traditional types of music the Festival is composed by the Fundacao Oriente and Cidade de Goa in relationship with the Kala Academy and is generally held in November. The Festival has been held throughout the previous two years and is developing into a yearly occasion.

The scene for the celebration is the patio of Capela da Nossa Senhora do Monte Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount situated on a hillock close to the Old Goa church complex. Confronting west and giving an all encompassing perspective of Old Goa, the Mandovi waterway, the islands of Di and Chorao, Ribandar and the Arabian ocean, the patio makes an ideal setting for the nightfall exhibitions.
