You are greeted by your guide and driver at Noi Bai International Airport and get transferred to the hotel in the city center. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Short break at the hotel and lunch on your own. In the afternoon, meet your tour guide at the hotel and we start our discovery of the city. We first visit The Ethnology Museum which gives an excellent overview of the country’s ethnic groups, customs and ways of life. The highlight here is the large, beautiful outdoor area featuring genuine houses and compounds as built and used by the many different ethnic groups. Next, we move on The Old Quarter, the bustling heart of Hanoi has been a commercial centre since King Ly Thai To built his palace there in the 11th century. Skilled craftsmen started to migrate and artisan guilds were formed on the famous “36 Streets”. This is a place you must see to experience Hanoi, where you will find shopping and cultural/historical sites all wrapped into one. Then you visit Hoan Kiem Lake which is a historical site and one of the symbols of Hanoi. Later, also see the picturesque Turtoise Tower standing on a small island in the middle of the lake, and Ngoc Son Temple located on the larger island, accessible by an iconic red wooden bridge. Breakfast at the hotel. Meet our guide at the hotel lobby and drive to Ninh Binh which is about 120 km to the south of Hanoi. Upon arrival, visit the Hoa Lu which was Vietnam’s capital under the Dinh and Early Le dynasties in the 10th and 11th centuries. Its palaces, pagodas, tombs, and pavilions, built by different dynasties, still carry the features of an ancient imperial capital. Afterward, drive to Trang An, which is probably the most scenic waterway of the entire region. Once you get there, embark on a rowing sampan for a two and half hour boat excursion going through a remarkable cave system along a winding river lined with trees and limestone mountains and the Skull island movie film set. The clear river water, fresh air, magical caves, and dramatic mountains will charm you from the first glance. Go back to the boat pier where our driver is waiting to take us back to Hanoi. Breakfast at the hotel. At 08:00 a.m, meet your guide and start a full-day tour to Halong Bay. Upon arrival, embark on a junk boat for a 4 hours boat trip to explore the spectacular Halong Bay. Start sailing while lunch is served on board with local food. After passing many islands & islets, the junk boat stops at Dau Go Island to visit Thien Cung Grotto and Dau Go cave. Back to dock in the late afternoon and take the transfer back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
