Modling

Modling is the capital of the Austrian district of the equal name positioned approximately 14 km south of Vienna. Modling lies in Lower Austria's industrial zone. The Modlingbach, a brook which rises within the Vienna Woods, flows through the metropolis. Near Achau it joins with the Schwechat. Woodland occupies a massive a part of the municipality, part of the Föhrenberge. Located right now south of Vienna, and inside the boundaries of the district of Modling, is one of the most important buying centres in Europe: Shopping City Sud.

The agreement dates returned to the Neolithic generation. Through the centuries, the name of the city advanced from Medilihha to Medelikch, Medling and, subsequently, Mödling. These names traces back to antique Slavic meaning 'slowly strolling water'. Today there's a old fashioned antique town with a pedestrian region. The town became the residence of a branch of the Babenberger family, as a result of which it acquired the nickname Babenbergerstadt.
