Hverfjall Crater presents one of the most striking landscapes in Iceland; and there is no dearth of awe inspiring landscapes in Iceland. This 1 mile wide crater was created nearly 2800 years during a small but powerful eruption. The cinder cone of Hverfjall rises to a height of 200 meters. Hverfjall Crater is situated north of Myvatn which is the fourth largest lake in Iceland which looks like an oasis between a lava desert.
