About Durango
Durango is a little city in southwestern Colorado, close to the New Mexico outskirt. The nineteenth century Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad steam prepare passes mountains and ravines. In the downtown area, its subsidiary Railroad Museum shows reestablished trains, air ship and a things auto changed over into a motion picture theater. Adjacent, the Powerhouse Science Center offers intelligent shows in a previous power plant.
The town was sorted out in September 1880 to serve the San Juan mining area. The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad D&RG picked the site on the Animas River for its warehouse following a brief and doubtlessly cursory transaction with Animas City, two miles toward the north.
