About Bishop
The second-biggest town in the Eastern Sierra, Bishop is around two hours from Yosemite's Tioga Pass entrance. A noteworthy amusement center point, Bishop offers access to fantastic angling in close-by lakes, moving in the Buttermilks only west of town, and climbing in the John Muir Wilderness by means of Bishop Creek Canyon and the Rock Creek seepage. The region is particularly exquisite in fall, while dropping temperatures shroud aspen, willow and cottonwood in heap sparkling shades.
The most punctual tenants of the Owens Valley were Paiute and Shoshone Native Americans, who today live on four reservations. White pilgrims went ahead the scene in the 1860s and started raising cows to pitch to close-by mining settlements.
