About Kingston
Kingston, also known as Kingston upon Thames, It is notable as the ancient market town and it is in the south west of Greater London, England, located 16.7 km south west of Charring Cross. It is the administrative center of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, and identified as a major metropolitan center in the London Plan.
Kingston lies approximately 10 meters above sea level. Most of the town center is part of the KT1 postcode area, but some areas north of Kingston railway station have the postcode KT2.Kingston was part of a large ancient parish in the county of Surrey and the town was an ancient borough, reformed in 1835.
