Sala

Sala is a territory and the seat of Sala Municipality in Västmanland County, Sweden, with 12,289 occupants in 2010. It is the home of a few celebrated places and individuals, for example "Sala-ligan". Sala is most known for its silver mine, which today is a mainstream vacation destination. Silvergruva the residential community is best known for its memorable silver mine which is situated around 1.7 miles southwest of the town. The town of Sala was moved to its present area near the mine, accepting its regal sanction from King Gustavus Adolphus. Sala is famous among visitors one of the main street, as far as retail outlets, is Drottninggatan, toward the west of Stora Torget the town square, and Bergmansgatan, toward the east.
