Zwijndrecht

Zwijndrecht is a metropolis and municipality inside the western Netherlands. It is positioned in the province of South Holland, at the southern tip of the island of IJsselmonde, and at the confluence of the rivers Oude Maas, Beneden-Merwede, and Noord. The metropolis of Zwijndrecht is one of the "Drecht" towns. Part of the suburban region south of Rotterdam, it has grown from round 6,000 inhabitants in 1960, to approximately forty five,000 nowadays. Since 2003, the municipality of Zwijndrecht additionally consists of the villages of Heerjansdam and Kleine-Lindt. It had a populace of 44,454 in 2017.
