About Eresing
Eresing is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech and forms together with the communities Windach and Finning the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Windach. Series grave finds from the 6th century indicate an earlier settlement. The first written mention of the place dates from the year 1126. Eresing was at this time in the sphere of influence of the Counts of Diessen Andechs, who used him as a court. Around 1300, a local nobility is detectable with the Ere singer, already in 1424, the court is at Eresing, however, in the possession of Duke Frederick IV of Habsburg.
In the course of the 16th century, there are numerous changes of ownership, before the Hofmark Eresing 1596 passes to the Lords of Full. Other landlords in the area are the monasteries Dieben and Rottenbuch, as well as the parish, church and community Eresing. Until 1825, the Lords of Full held the lower jurisdiction in Eresing. The political community of Eresing, founded in 1818, also includes the Arch abbey of St. Ottilien, founded in 1887.
