Negombo is a major city in Sri Lanka, located on the west coast of the island and at the mouth of the Negombo Lagoon, in Western Province, Sri Lanka. Negombo is the fifth largest city in the country after the capital Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna and Galle, and it is the second largest city in Western province after Colombo. Negombo is also the administrative capital of Negombo Division.
Day 2 :
After breakfast transfer to Sigiriya. En- route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The orphanage was created to protect abandoned and orphaned elephants. It has now grown into the most popular elephant attraction in the country and with good reason, for nowhere else except at Pageants (processions) are you likely to see so many elephants at close quarters. The elephants are controlled by their mahouts (keepers) who ensure they are fed at the right times and don’t endanger anyone but otherwise the elephants roam freely around the sanctuary area. There are many elephants in residence from babies to young adults. Among the attractions, you will be able to witness elephants being lead to a nearby river for bathing. You could also see the feeding of the baby elephants which is the highlight of the visit. Overnight stay at hotel in Sigiriya.
Day 3 :
After breakfast transfer to Polonnaruwa. Sightseeing in Polonnaruwa with visits to the largest man made reservoir, the “Parakrama Samudraya” (the sea of Parakrama) built during King Parakrama’s reign. Also see the ruins of Shiva Devales and Hindu style decor which show the influence of Hindu culture on Sinhala Buddhist culture. The “Gal Vihara Complex” with its imposing Buddha sculptures in granite which is one of the most evocative pieces of sculpture in the world can be seen. Unique style of brick work architecture can also be seen at Lankathilaka Viharaya. The other interesting places are the ruins of the King’s Council Chamber, the Royal Pavilion, Kirivehera and the Gal Viaharaya. All these places show the height of stone craft and artistry of this period.
Day 4 :
After breakfast transfer Climb the Sigiriya rock. Climb the 180-meter rock which was a royal citadel for nearly 20 years. This great exiting site is nearly one hectare in extent. The rock fortress was built by King Kashyapa who killed his father to gain his wealth. This wonderful fortress is a masterpiece of artistry. Sigiriya has been made famous throughout the world for the frescoes on its rock wall and advanced water system. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 5 :
After breakfast do the city tour in Kandy. Kandy is considered the capital of Sri Lanka’s hill country and there are several interesting places and sights for tourists to visit. The city tour includes a visit to the main Kandy Market, the gem museum and other interesting places. You will also see the beautiful manmade Kandy Lake which is located close to the Temple. Overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.
Day 6 :
After breakfast transfer to Colombo. Overnight stay at hotel in Colombo.
Day 7 :
After breakfast do the city tour in Colombo. A drive through the city will take you to Fort and Pettah - the commercial area of the city and tree-lined Colombo 7 - Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 3, 4, 5 & 8 are the prime residential areas of the City. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street - lined with goldsmith shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendhal dating back to 1749, the historic Devatagaha Mosque, Independence Square, BMICH, Gangaramaya Temple and Colombo Museum are some of the attractions in Colombo.
Day 8 :
After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure.

It was overall very good experience, it could be excellent, only because last hotel selection (Full Moon Garden, Colombo) I rated very good.
