Today, on a guided tour, we see Hadrian’s gate and the clock tower at Kalekapisi. Hadrian’s Gate or Uckapilar is a triumphal arch located in Antalya, Turkey, which was built in the name of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who visited the city in the year 130. It is the only remaining entrance gate in the walls that surround the city and harbor. Today drive to Pamukkale, on arrival proceed on our guided tour of Pamukkale meaning ‘Cotton Castle’ in Turkish - a natural site that has hot springs and terraces. These terraces of carbonate minerals are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock deposited by water from the hot springs. Later drive to Hierapolis Ancient Site, Deriving from springs in a cliff almost 200 m high overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have created at Pamukkale (Cotton Palace) an unreal landscape, made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins.
