/• Proceed to visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala. Pinnawala is the most popular and accessible place to see large numbers of these lovable animals in a natural habitat. It is the most popular elephant /‘attraction/’ with tourists because nowhere else, except at the splendid /‘pereheras/’ will you see so many elephants at such close quarters. The Orphanage is open from 8.30am to 5.45pm and visitors can interact a little with the elephants during the regulated bathing and feeding times.
/• Leave to visit Dambulla Rock Temple. Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. The largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, the rock from which the caves were carved towers 160 meters (520 ft) over the surrounding plains. A total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses also stand in the site.

/• In the morning climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Sigiriya Rock Fortress is UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most dramatic, inspiring and beautiful historical locations in the world. A mythical past of feuding dynasties suits Sigiriya/’s striking setting- it was built in 5th century AD by king, Kasyapa, as a fortress-palace. The palace complex at the foot of the rock still has the remains of four indoor swimming pools where the king/’s 500 concubines bathed. The palace structure was built with complex water arteries in the walls that provided natural air conditioning in the hot climate. On the summit, reached with the help of metal staircases and ladders, you can see the remains of the palace walls, gardens and ponds. The mirror walls of the Sigiriya rock still retain the world-famous frescoes of the king/’s concubines, who originated from all parts of the world.
/• Proceed to Kandy.
/• Kandy is the last kingdom of Sri Lanka, and the hill capital. Kandy is also the venue for Annual Perahara, a pageant with over 150 elephants, dance troops, etc., annually parading the city for 10 consecutive days.
/• Visit the Temple of The Tooth Relic, locally known as the Sri Dalada Maligawa, the stunning 17th century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts white-clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani, every day.
/• In the evening witness a cultural dance show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dances including fire dancing.

The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall.

Cinnamon gardens, Independence Memorial Arcade & Independence Square, BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall), Gangarama Seema Malakaya - Gangaramaya Temple is the center for the most extravagant Vesak festivals in Colombo and Navam Perahara in February each year. Seema Malakaya Mediation Center - Designed by the renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa and run by Gangaramaya Temple this small but eye catching meditation center is famous for it’s bronze Thai Buddha statues, Lighthouse and Clock tower, Old Parliament, Beire Lake, Pettah - The chaotic Pettah markets definitely worth a visit to see the ordinary disorderliness. Pettah market is an amazing experience for bargain shoppers. It’s noisy, sticky, smelly, hot and crowded with it’s narrow streets and shops and stalls of merchandise.
