About Merriam
Merriam is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, USA, and part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 enumeration, the city populace was 11,003. It is circumscribed by the urban communities of Overland Park toward the east and south, Shawnee toward the west, and Kansas City, Kansas toward the north in Wyandotte County, the city of Lenexa is not as much as a mile toward the southwest.
Merriam is incorporated into the Shawnee Mission postal assignment. It country was fused as a second rate class city on October 28, 1950, and built up below average city status on eighteen January, 1957.
