The focal point of populace of Connecticut is situated in Cheshire. It was first settled in 1694 as a component of Wallingford, Connecticut.
It was then known as New Cheshire Parish. After numerous endeavors in anchoring their freedom from Wallingford, New Cheshire Parish was allowed severance and was later consolidated as a town in May 1780 as Cheshire. It was once in the past piece of Cheshire before 1829, and was then known as Columbia Parish.
