Huetamo

Huetamo is one of the 113 municipalities that make up the nation of Michoacan de Ocampo, in Mexico. It is located inside the Tierra Caliente place. It limits to the north with Caracuaro and Tiquicheo, to the east with San Lucas, to the south with the State of Guerrero and to the west with Churumuco and Turicato. Its head is the town of Huetamo de Nunez this is nearly a border with the state of Guerrero; it's far near the Balsas River which divides those two states.

Its surface is of 2063.688 Km² and represents 3.52% of the surface of the State. It says Chronicles of Tierra Caliente by means of Ing. Alfredo Mundo Fernandez that within the mid 15th century the Matlatzincas of the Toluca Valley ask King Tzitzipandacuare of the Tarascos to allow them to stay of their land, due to the fact that they're bored with the Aztecs. The Tarascan king permits it with the circumstance that after he wishes them to triumph over lands they help him.
